Irish nurses in the NHS

A photography exhibition capturing the untold stories of the young Irish women who left thoer homes and came to the UK in the 1950s -1970s to train to become nurses in the NHS. And its lively launch event at the London Irish Centre.

For the exhibition, Fiona took personal portrait photos of the Irish nurses either in their homes or where they used to work. We included these with old portraits of them as well as their fascinating stories on coming to the UK to train and work for the NHS.
