Championing South Asians in Football

A first-of-its-kind showcase of South Asian female footballers in Britain today. Lise was delighted to work on the designs for this exhibition. The exhibition highlights four players and presents a timeline illustrating community' journey in the modern-day game from 2011 to present day. The exhibition was launched at Stamford Bridge and went on a tour of the UK’s football stadiums as well as local football clubs.

Sporting Equals and Sky Sports teamed up to celebrate the modern history of South Asian female players and we hope this will inspire more girls and women to get involved.

Championing South Asian female footballers

The four players profiled are Kira Rai (Derby County), Mariam Mahmood (West Bromwich Albion), Millie Chandarana (Blackburn Rovers) and Simran Jhamat (Coventry United). This quartet of players are from different backgrounds, with different journeys in the game, and are proving that there is a path to success. The first-of-its-kind timeline identifies more than 30 milestones and key moments covering the evolution of the women's game and the strides made by women of South Asian heritage in English football.
