An all-women creative collective

WeAre women who have worked in creative industries and want to make a change for good. We discovered a shared passion to change the way women and other diverse groups are represented and recognised in the media and at work.

#MotherWorks has developed into a unique, engaging photography event hosted and sponsored by organisations across the UK to support workplace gender equality initiatives it was shown in the houses of Parliament and was part of the Royal Photographic Society’s 100 Heroines. We created #CorporateQueer to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and their contribution to the world of work for Pride 2021 this then grew and went on show in the Houses of Parliament for LGBTQ+ History Month, February 2023 and, the now, 108 portraits and stories went on show outside Guildhall for Pride in June 2023. #50overFifty celebrates women over 50 in the insurance industry and has been displayed in offices and workplaces across the UK. We are planning more exhibitions celebrating; the differently-abled, neurodiverse, parents and all the amazing cultural backgrounds of people working in the UK.

We work with clients who want to talk to and connect with everyone in their organisation in an inclusive way. And are determined to show the world their commitment to championing the diversity that their organisation, clients and stakeholders benefit from.

We love working with people and bringing them together to support, discuss and develop ideas. We believe inclusive workplaces are essential for success both in business and in life. Help us make change through celebration.

Please do get in touch about a specific project or for a chat about how to initiate change - could be a long chat!

What we do essentially create a celebration of diversity and inclusion. With my background in Culture Change I know how important building a platform for discussions in the workplace is. Combining an exhibition, social event and a book is by far the best and most engaging way for companies to show real commitment to having honest diversity and inclusion conversations. I have worked with Camelot, ITV, Mercure Hotels, Royal Parks, British Guild of Tourist Guides, BritRail and Virgin.

Joanna Foster

Gallery Curator

I have worked in the creative industry for over 30 years in various guises; working in art education, as an illustrator, and running a successful gallery in Hoxton, showcasing fine art and street art.

More recently, I have become a freelance curator and exhibition installer and enjoyed working with Fiona Freund on many exhibitions, including MotherWorks, CorporateQueer and 50overFifty.

As a mother of five children myself, I have been hugely proud to work on MotherWorks, and feel it’s crucial that women are recognised and championed for their roles in and out of the workplace.

I relish the challenge of installing artwork in temporary spaces not usually used as art galleries, such as Sea Containers London and the Houses of Parliament.

Dixie Thomas

Gallery Team

I have worked in the creative industries for many years. As a freelance music facilitator and as a photographer.

I have attended many MotherWorks networking events, as an Ally and have recently joined the WeAre team working with Fiona Freund and Joanna Foster on the #CorporateQueer exhibition.

I am fascinated by photography's ability to inspire conversation. And I am proud to work with an organisation that seeks to use photography as a tool to champion and celebrate diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
